Best Mods That Need MaLiLib

MaLiLib is the foundation under some of the most used client mods in Minecraft. Here is what each one does and why it needs the library.

Key takeaways

  • Litematica, MiniHUD, Tweakeroo and Item Scroller all require MaLiLib.
  • One MaLiLib jar serves every dependent mod.
  • Update the library whenever you update these mods.

Why they share one library

masa wrote MaLiLib so his mods would not each carry their own copy of the same config and input code. The result is a family of mods that look and behave consistently. Install one of them and you need MaLiLib; install four of them and you still need only one MaLiLib jar.

Litematica

Litematica loads schematic files and shows a transparent hologram of a build in your world, layer by layer. Builders use it to recreate large projects block for block, and technical players use it to copy redstone machines between worlds. It relies on MaLiLib for its extensive menus and tool hotkeys.

MiniHUD

MiniHUD adds configurable info lines, such as coordinates, light level and chunk data, plus overlays for slime chunks, spawnable areas and structure bounding boxes. Every line and overlay is toggled through MaLiLib's config screens.

Mods from the same family share one library, one config style and one hotkey system.

Tweakeroo

Tweakeroo is a collection of client-side tweaks: flexible block placement, a free camera, fast right-click and dozens of small quality-of-life switches. Each tweak can be bound to its own hotkey using MaLiLib's multi-key system.

Item Scroller

Item Scroller speeds up inventory work with scroll-wheel moving, drag-to-move stacks and crafting shortcuts. It is small but one of the most time-saving mods for survival players.

Other mods in the ecosystem

Community projects such as Syncmatica, which shares Litematica schematics on servers, also build on the same library. Always check each mod page for its dependency list. Ready to set things up? Start with our Fabric install guide or compare options on the alternatives page.
